Dhulikhel

Dhulikhel is a mountain town and the administrative center of the district Kabhrepalanchok in Nepal, about 25 km east of Kathmandu.

The city lies on Araniko Highway, a major trunk road from Kathmandu to the Sino - Nepal Friendship Bridge at the border with Tibet. At the same time it is the starting point of the BP Koirala Rajmarg, a nearly completed road link in the eastern Terai.

The well preserved old town in the Newar style with some pagoda temples makes Dhulikhel become a major tourist center of Nepal. In addition, Dhulikhel is a well known, easily accessible vantage point in the central Himalayas. The city has a renowned hospital and is the site of Kathmandu University.
