Diana López

Diana Lopez ( born January 7, 1984 in Houston ) is an American Taekwondo. It starts in the weight class up to 57 kg.

Lopez, whose parents emigrated from Nicaragua to the United States comes from a sports-loving family, including her three brothers Steven, Mark and Jean are successful Taekwondoin. Steven Lopez is with two Olympic victories and five world titles the most successful athlete in the modern full-contact taekwondo, Jean is Diana's coach, founder of the Lopez Taekwondo Academy and U.S. national team coach. Diana Lopez celebrated her first international success at the Junior World Championships in 1998 in Istanbul and 2000 in Killarney won it in the class up to 52 kg each title.

In the adult area, Lopez took in Jeju for the first time at the 2001 World Championships in part, but different in their opening battle of. The following year they finally won in Quito at the Pan Championships its first International title in the adult area. At the World Championships 2005, she was in the class up to 59 kg World Champion, 2007, she won bronze in Beijing with another World Championship medal.

Lopez participated in Beijing at the 2008 Olympic Games. In the category up to 57 kilograms, she reached the quarterfinals, where she lost to Azize Tanrikulu. With two wins in the hope round, she won a bronze medal still. Also Olympic medals then also won her brothers Steven and Mark.
