Die Happy

Die Happy is a German band from Ulm. The name ( literally: "Die Happy" ) is an English slang variant of neck and collarbone.

History

The band was founded in late 1993 by guitarist Thorsten Mewes, bassist Julian Rosenthal, drummer Marcus Heinzmann and singer Marta Jandová. Mewes and Heinzmann knew each other from a band that had just been dissolved. Over time they met Julian and Martha, who was only a few days earlier immigrated from the Czech Republic.

The Happy 1998 was one of the first bands that were supported in the tape pool from the predecessor of today's Pop Academy. In the same year won the talent competition The Happy Baden- Württemberg rocks.

A major career boost learned the band with their single Supersonic Speed ​​of 2001, which made ​​it into the top 50 in the German single charts.

With their album Four & More Unplugged, which was released on 11 November 2005, The Happy has fulfilled the dream to take many of the rock songs as an acoustic version.

When Marta was known to be represented in the current season of the talent show Popstars as a juror, sparked violent protests this commitment from among the fans. The band announced, from the statement that Marta's work in television has nothing to do with The Happy and the music would not thereby suffer.

The Happy have completed on 11 February 2012 at the Roxy in Ulm her 1000th concert.
