Dieudonné Disi

Dieudonné Disi (born 24 November 1980 as Ntyazo - Butarg ) is a Rwandan long distance runner.

Disi is a survivor of the genocide in Rwanda in which his parents and eight of his brothers were killed. He fled on foot to Burundi.

Both in the 2004 Olympics in Athens as well as at the World Championships in Helsinki in 2005, he finished 17th place in the 10,000 meter race.

In the road race World Championships 2006 in Debrecen, he was ninth.

In 2007, he improved the Rwandan record of Mathias Ntawulikura over 10,000 m at 27:22,28 min. In the road race world championships in 2007 in Udine on the half marathon distance, he was sixth in 59:32 min. This time is not only also a Rwandan record, Disi is therefore also number 13 in the eternal world leaderboard (November 2007 ). Shortly after, he won the Delhi Half Marathon.

In 2008 he arrived at the Olympic Games in Beijing on the 19th place in the 10,000 m and was again at the World Half Marathon Championships in Rio de Janeiro sixth.

In 2009 he went to the marathon and finished the Paris Marathon on the 18th place in 2:12:51 h At the World Championships in Berlin he held until kilometer 25 in the top group, but then gave up because of knee problems. After he won, as in the previous two years at Reims à toutes jambes on the half-marathon and won the race in Marseille - Cassis, where he was a year before finishing second.
