Dikran Chökürian

Dikran Chökürian (Armenian Տիգրան Չէօկիւրեան, Turkish Dikran Çöğüryan; * 1884 in Gümüşhane, Ottoman Empire, † 1915 in Ayaş in Ankara) was an Armenian novelist, editor, painter, writer, editor of the newspaper Vosdan ( in Armenian Ոստան, "The capital " ) and victims of the Armenian genocide.

He finished the Berberian - College of Istanbul in 1907 and then worked as a teacher at Armenian schools. Dikran Chökürian 1910 was known throughout the Empire, when he was in a book called Hayreni dzayner published his novels ( in Armenian Հայրենի Ձայներ ). In 1914 he published the novel Vanke ( in Armenian Վանքը, The Monastery ).

Together with his brother, who was also a writer and journalist, as well as other Armenian intellectuals, he was arrested on April 24, 1915, and killed in the same year in Ayaş near Ankara.
