Dilara Aliyeva

Dilarə Ələkbər Qizi Əliyeva (alternative spelling: Dilara Aliyeva Alakbar qizi ) ( born December 14, 1929 in Tbilisi, Georgian SSR, † April 19, 1991 in Qax, Azerbaijan ) was an Azerbaijani philologist, translator and feminist and politician.

Life

Əliyeva Oriental Studies at the State University in Baku in Azerbaijan and then worked at the Nizami Institute of the National Academy of Sciences, where she dealt with the Azerbaijani literature of the early periods. Among other things, she specialized in doing mittal to the old Medieval poet Nizami and on the comparison of the Azeri with the Georgian literature. In the meantime, she also spent several years in Tbilisi in Georgia worked at the Georgian Academy of Sciences, where she the original manuscripts of the Azerbaijani poet Musahib Ganjavi discovered in their research for the Koroghlu epic, the authenticity of which has now been confirmed.

Politically, she entered 1988, the opposition party of the Azerbaijan Popular Front with and soon rose to a leadership position. In addition Əliyeva founded the Azerbaijan Society for women's rights.

Furthermore Əliyeva was from 1990 until her death a member of the Supreme Soviet of Azerbaijan ( " Supreme Council ").

In 1991, she died in a car accident. A street in Baku and the company founded by her bear her name today.
