Dirk Marc Ellis ( born April 13, 1988 in Horst aan de Maas ) is a Dutch football player. Since the season 2010/11 he is at AZ Alkmaar under contract.

Career

Association

Marc Ellis has already played in 1998 in the youth of PSV in Eindhoven. But His first club was RKSV Wittenhorst and he played in the youth of VVV -Venlo before moving to PSV.

Since the season 2006/ 07 the center-back is part of the professional cadres of the Red and Whites. On 11 April 2007 he made his debut in the first team PSV in the UEFA Champions League match against Liverpool. In the same game, he received a red card and had thus a rather unfortunate start to his professional career. Nearly six months later, on 6 October, he celebrated his debut game in the Eredivisie against Willem II Tilburg. With good performance, he developed further in his second year and came on regular operating times. In the 2007 /08 season, he completed 26 matches. This was rewarded with a contract extension until 2012. Later that year he won his first title with PSV. Already last year, the championship was won, however, denied Marc Ellis at this time still not a game. In 2008 he was elected by the PSV fans behind Heurelho da Silva Gomes and Ibrahim Afellay on place three of the best players of the season 2007 /08. Beginning of the 2009/10 season he missed some games due to injury, was then under coach Fred Rutten is no longer first choice and only came to eleven Eredivisie inserts. Accordingly, for 2010/11 season, he left his hometown club and moved to AZ.

National

For the 2008 Summer Olympics he was appointed to the National team squad. On 11 October 2008, the 20 -year-old was under coach Bert van Marwijk his debut in the A- national team in the World Cup qualifier against Iceland.
