Disney Cruise Line
Disney Cruise Line is the name of a cruise business, which is part of the Walt Disney Company and the Department of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts is assigned.
General
The Disney Cruise Line has four cruise ships, the Disney Magic, the Disney Wonder, the Disney Fantasy and the Disney Dream, as well as a private island in the Bahamas called Castaway Cay. The island has an exclusive haven in which these vessels can create. The liquor or line was founded in 1995 when The Walt Disney Company wanted to expand their vacation package and chose the lake as a resort. After the decision and founding two ships were ordered in Italy at Fincantieri in Venice, which were delivered much later than scheduled. A common dedication to Disney 's Animal Kingdom therefore did not materialize.
The two ships are fully focused on the family vacation and want to aim at families with small children. The difference between a vacation here by many as "Seniors Travel " proscribed other cruise lines.
The ships start at Port Canaveral in Florida and drive a certain route through the Caribbean to Castaway Cay. For the voyage there is the possibility to book a combination with a stay at Walt Disney World Resort.
Most cruises last for 4 to 7 nights. Except the California route, in which the ship from Florida rides over the Panama Canal to California
Since May 2007, the Disney Magic ( 4 stars ) runs during the summer in the Mediterranean. The port of Barcelona is, more stations are Italy, France and Greece.
In the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany until January and the end of 2011 with the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy, two new cruise ships for Disney Cruise Line were built. They each have 1,250 cabins, doubling the current capacity. The two cruise ships are about 340 meters long and 37 meters wide and have a survey of 130,000 GT, they are so far the largest cruise ships ever built in Germany. They therefore do not fit through the Panama Canal, which was a prerequisite for the first two ships. The Disney Dream has left 30 October 2010 for the first time the dock, on the night of 12th to November 13th 2010 it has been successfully disembarked by the dammed river Ems to the North Sea. She had begun the trip to Florida 19 December 2010 and is used since 26 January 2011 routes to the Bahamas.
The Disney Fantasy has been laid on February 11, 2011 in Papenburg, on the Meyer shipyard in Kiel. The Disney Fantasy was docked at noon on January 8, 2012 from the Meyer Werft shipyard with a small fireworks. The ship is guided over the Ems between the mid and late January. After Emsüberführung the ship after January 31 was completely finished in Bremerhaven on the Columbus and equipped. The maiden voyage took place on 31 March 2012.
On December 9, 2011, unknown perpetrators, but most workers who are employed on the Disney Fantasy, 48 cabins of the cruise ship had been damaged by the opening of fire extinguishing systems. On deck 12 and 11 several fire extinguishing systems have only been turned up several times later sewage valves were then opened, allowing the waste water has leaked on Deck 11. The damage was estimated at around one million euros.
