Distorted Reality

Distorted Reality is a music project from Germany and the USA, which connects modern electro pop with electroclash and breakbeat elements.

Band History

Martha M. Hoffmann ( Miami, USA), and Christian Kobusch ( Bielefeld, Germany ) met in 1997 after a concert by Project Pitchfork know where Martha appeared with her ​​former band Deep Red as the opening act. Both founded a short time later and took Distorted Reality 1998 demo. The demo was soon played in relevant radio broadcasts in Europe and the United States.

The debut album The fine line in between Love and Hate was produced in 2001 with Bruno Kramm ( Das Ich ) and in spring 2002 with remixes from among others, propaganda and sabotage qcqc on Accession Records. The album was praised by the press as an innovative and promising debut. The annual survey on Grenzwellen.de gave Distorted Reality 4th place in the category " Newcomer of the Year 2002".

In the spring of 2003, the U.S. version of The fine line in between love and hate appeared with additional remixes, including by Assemblage 23, Forma Tadre and cut.rate.box on Nilaihah Records.

Spectacular performances on the 12th and 14th Wave -Gotik-Treffen (2003 and 2005 ) increased the popularity of Distorted Reality, which on the website of the band was also evident in the strong increase in hits. Another appearance was in October 2005 at the Electronic Pleasures 3 Festival (Berlin, Germany ) at the Columbia Club instead. More performances are planned.

Between 2004 and the spring of 2006 and worked Martha Christian with producer Andreas Meyer ( Forma Tadre ) on the new album Daydreams and Nightmares, for which well-known bands like In Strict Confidence, Haujobb, the ego, Dust of Basement and Agonoize contributed remixes.
