Districts of Hong Kong

The item districts of Hong Kong provides an overview of the development of the population of all districts in the Hong Kong SAR. Listed are also the area, population density and the location of the district in Hong Kong.

Administrative divisions

The Hong Kong SAR has a management unit and is divided into 18 districts ( districts).

  • Hong Kong Iceland: Central and Western (中 西区), Eastern (东区), Southern (南 区), Wan Chai (湾仔)
  • Kowloon: Kowloon City (九龙 城), Kwun Tong (观塘), Sham Shui Po (深水埗), Wong Tai Sin (黄大仙), Yau Tsim Mong (油尖旺)
  • New Territories: Islands (离岛), Kwai Tsing (葵青), North (北区), Sai Kung (西贡) Sha Tin (沙田), Tai Po (大埔), Tsuen Wan (荃湾), Tuen Mun (屯 门), Yuen Long (元朗)

The population figures in the following table are based on the census of 15 March 1991, of 15 March 1996 of 14 March 2001 and 15 July 2006.
