Dmitrij Vaľukevič

Dmitry Vaľukevič (White Russian Дзьмітры Валюкевіч, Dzmitryj Waljukewitsch, English transcription Dzmitryi Valyukevich, . Born 31 May 1981) is a Slovak triple jumper of Belarusian origin.

In 2003 he was European U23 champion and retired at the World Championships in Paris / Saint- Denis in qualifying. The following year he was fourth at the World Indoor Championships in Budapest, but did not at the Olympic Games in Athens in the first round also.

On 9 March 2005, he received the Slovak nationality. Starting for his new country, he finished tenth at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki. At the European Championships in Gothenburg in 2006 and at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka, he failed in the first round. 2008 was followed by a fifth place finish at the World Indoor Championships in Valencia, another Vorrundenaus at the Olympic Games in Beijing.

In 2009 he was twelfth at the World Championships in Berlin, 2010, respectively seventh at the World Indoor Championships in Doha and at the European Championships in Barcelona.

His father Gennadi Waljukewitsch was in Soviet times also a successful triple jumper. In September 2010 Dmitry Vaľukevič married the Russian triple jumper Viktoriya Gurowa that brought their son to the world in June of this year.
