The Doha airport (Doha International Airport ) is the international airport in Doha, the Qatari capital.

The only 4 km from the city center, the airport is hub of the rapidly growing Flagcarriers Qatar Airways. It is frequented by almost 15 million passengers ( 2007), already on its designed capacity boundary.

From Germany, Qatar Airways operates direct flights from Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich. Lufthansa offers direct flights from Frankfurt.

Extension

With over 21 million passengers ( 2012), the capacity of the old part of the airport more than busy. Since 2007, the plant will be expanded about 4 kilometers to the east. The new terminal and a new runway to open in early 2014, the Passagierkapazitzät will grow to 30 million per year. The hope is to be able to absorb the growing movements up in the medium term. A special feature of the new terminal is a separate port just south of the plant; thus it is considered that many passengers have their own boats or can travel more convenient with water taxis.
