Dolbina is a genus of the family of the butterfly hawkmoth ( Sphingidae ). The genus has its spread in the Palaearctic. It is closely related with the genera Sphingulus and Kentrochrysalis.

Features

The moths have short, slender and hook-shaped end sensors which are fine hairs on the basal half longer than on the apical. The Pilifer, a structure derived from the labrum is reduced to a nodule, which bears a few bristles and scales. Only Dolbina inexacta it has no scales. The proboscis is just like the palps regressed. The tibiae have no thorns, only at the Hintertibien two pair strongly reduced spurs are visible.

The eggs are colored spherical and pale yellowish green.

The caterpillars, in so far as they are known, are very similar to those of the genus Smerinthus, but have a long, straight grained and Analhorn and show a brightening in each case under the sloping verges.
