Dolmar

The company Dolmar GmbH is the oldest manufacturer of gasoline chainsaws. The company's headquarters is located in Hamburg -Wandsbek. What was started in the beginning as a manufacturer of chainsaws, has evolved in recent years to become a distributor of forest and garden equipment. In the sales are next to petrol and electric chainsaws and brushcutters, Rocker circular saws, lawn mowers, lawn tractors, log splitters, cut-off saws, safety clothing and forestry tools, each with its associated accessories and spare parts service.

History

In 1927 the company founder Emil Lerp presented his first petrol chainsaw type A on the mountain Dolmar in southern Thuringia. The company was then named after the mountain Dolmar. It became the first logo in 1927 the name and stylized saw chains. The logo from 1950 shows two workers felling a tree with the newer two -man saw on CL, which was built until 1964. 1975, the Company acquired Fichtel & Sachs majority stake. In 1987, the company Mannesmann Fichtel & Sachs and therefore Sachs - Dolmar until it reaches 100 % subsidiary of the Japanese power tool manufacturer Makita Corp. was established in 1991.

Technical Milestones

1927, the 2-man chainsaw type A was built. The saw weighed 58 kg. 1953 Dolmar built its first one -man chainsaw, type CP (still with carburettor and gearbox ). Four years later, the chainsaw type CF followed with diaphragm carburetor without marine gear. 1975: presented Sachs Dolmar the first four-stroke chain saw before: The KMS4 ( rotary piston chainsaw 4-stroke ) with a Wankel engine. 2004 was presented as a publicity stunt the Dolmette, a motorcycle with 24 chainsaw motors as driving. At the same time the prototype of the four-stroke chain saw was presented.
