Dominek
Dominek ( German Dominke ) is a village in Ustka ( Stolpmünde ) in the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship.
Geographical location
Dominek located in Pomerania, about 17 kilometers east of Stolpmünde, 15 kilometers north of Stolp and 102 kilometers west of the regional capital Gdańsk.
History
The small village Dominke, formerly called Demminke, emerged from a manor, which was an old feud of the family of Bandemer. Around 1784, there was a Dominke Vorwerk, three farmers, two Kossäten, two Halbkossäten, a forge and a total of twelve hearths ( households ).
Towards the end of the Second World War, the region was occupied in the spring of 1945 by the Red Army and soon after put together with all Pomerania under Polish administration. The houses and farms in Dominke were taken over by immigrant Poles. The German population was expelled due to the so-called Bierut Decrees.
Dominek is now a part of the rural community Ustka and currently (2011) about 120 inhabitants.
