Domingos Jose Oliveira Paciência called Domingos ( born January 2, 1969 in Leca da Palmeira ), is a former Portuguese football player and current football coach.

Playing career

Domingos began his career at FC Porto, where he belonged to the squad of the first team since 1987. With FC Porto he was seven times national champion and five- times Cup winners. In 1990 he was elected Footballer of the Year of Portugal and in the 1995/96 season he was top scorer in the Super League. For the season 1997/98 he moved to the Canary Islands to CD Tenerife. However, Domingos could be there Can not prove and went two years back to Porto. For the fans liked and loved, Domingos could not provide the services of earlier times and ultimately resigned in 2001.

With the Portuguese national football team Domingos took part in the European Football Championship 1996. In three missions he scored a goal there.

Coaching career

After the end of his active career, he was a football coach. He initially looked different youth teams and later the reserve of FC Porto, and founded, together with his former teammate Rui Barros a football school in Matosinhos. In the 2006/07 season he was coach of União Leiria. From 12 September 2007 to the end of the 2008/09 season he was coach of Académica Coimbra and then moved to Sporting Braga. In 2011 he reached the final with Braga of UEFA Europa League.

For the season 2011/12 he moved to Sporting Lisbon. There, however, he did not work long and was only half a year after his appointment, released on 13 February 2012 due to lack of success. During his tenure as manager of Sporting Lisbon fell, among others, the achievement of the final match in the Portuguese Football Cup and the advance to the third round of the UEFA Europa League 2011 /12.

On New Years Eve 2012 Domingos was obliged by Spanish club Deportivo La Coruna to the end of the season, but resigned on 11 February 2013 following a series of failures back.

On January 17, 2014 it was announced that new coach Domingos at Turkish first division club Kayserispor will and a contract was awarded in 2015. He resigned after just seven games of his office.
