Dominik Auliczek

Dominik Auliczek ( born August 1, 1734 Polička, † April 15, 1804 in Nymphenburg, Munich today ) was a sculptor of Czech origin. He was inspector of the Nymphenburg Porcelain Manufactory, court sculptor and created statues for the Nymphenburg Park.

Life

Auliczek went through an apprenticeship with a Bohemian sculptor. He continued his studies in Vienna with Johann Georg Leitner. He then traveled to Paris (1754 ) and London (1755 /56). It was followed by a six -year stay at the Pontifical Academy of Arts in Rome. Here Auliczek made ​​the acquaintance of the architect Gaetano Chiaveri. Pope Clement XIII. presented him with the Artist Order of the Golden Spur.
