Don Burgess (cinematographer)

Don Burgess ( born May 28, 1956 in Santa Monica, California as Don Michael Burgess) is an American cinematographer.

Life

After his studies at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena Burgess turned first documentaries, industrial films and worked as a cameraman for commercials. First experience in feature film productions he gained as second-unit cameraman and as a camera operator. Since the early 1990s, Burgess turned as director of photography and was nominated in 1994 for his work on Forrest Gump for an Oscar and for a ASC Award for Best Cinematography. Since then, he also frequently collaborates with director Robert Zemeckis.

Living in Pasadena Burgess is married and has three children. In 2003 he was admitted as a member of the ASC.
