Richie Rich (Film)

Richie Rich ( Ri ¢ hie Ri ¢ h) is an American comedy film directed by Donald Petrie from the year 1994. The film is a comic book adaptation of the eponymous comics from the Harvey Comics Publishers. The main role was played by Macaulay Culkin, one of the cameo roles Claudia Schiffer is seen.

Action

Richie Rich is the underage son of seventy times billionaire Richard Rich and his wife Regina Rich. His parents are missing after a plane crash. Dishonest employees then seize the assets of the family and want the " treasury " rob in which they suspect the most expensive valuables. Richie and the faithful servant Cadbury organize the defense. They are supported by some children that belong to the Friends of Richie Rich.

Parents will be saved and return. It turns out that only personal belongings of the family are kept in the " treasure " that have a sentimental value only for the Rich.

Reviews

Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun - Times 21 December 1994, the film show the old story of a rich kid. He compared the film with the films of the 1930s, whom he resembled more than modern films about children. Ebert wrote that he was surprised that the movie he likes.

Macaulay Culkin was in 1995 nominated for the Golden Raspberry negative price.

The film was shot in Asheville (North Carolina), in Chicago, at the amusement park Six Flags Great America in Gurnee (Illinois ) and Gary (Indiana). He played in the cinemas of the United States an approximately 38.1 million U.S. dollars.

The Christmas Wish ( Richie Rich's Christmas Wish) published by David Gallagher in the lead role: In 1998, the sequel was Richie Rich.

In the plot of the film a roller coaster occurs, the Richie Rich has been given by his father, Birthday and standing in the garden of the property of Riches. Filming for these scenes took place on the roller coaster "Iron Wolf" at the amusement park " Six Flags Great America " (USA). Today, this roller coaster is under the name Apocalypse at the amusement park "Six Flags America " (USA).
