Christine Ebersole

Christine Ebersole ( born February 21, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois ) is an American actress and singer. She has twice won the Tony Award.

Life

Ebersole attended MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois. After her performance in Ryan's Hope in 1977 and 1980, she got her first major role as part of the cast of Saturday Night Live, after she starred in several seasons of the series love, lies, passion and Valerie.

Ebersole was also part of the cast of several not very successful television series, such as Rachel Gunn, RN (1992 ) in which she played the title role. It has also had guest roles in many series such as Will & Grace, Just Shoot Me - Just Shoot, Murphy Brown and Ally McBeal.

The most successful, however, she was on Broadway. There she played in Gore Vidal's The Best Man (2000), the role of Millicent Jordan in Dinner at Eight (2002) ( Nomierung for a Tony Award ), the M'Lynn in Steel Magnolias ( 2005).

The Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical she won for her portrayal of Dorothy Brock in the revival of the musical 42nd Street in 2001 and in 2007 as Edie Beale in Grey Gardens.

Christine Ebersole is divorced from Peter Bergman and her present husband Bill Moloney, with whom she adopted three children.
