Don Douglas

Donald Douglas ( born August 24, 1905 in Scotland, † December 31, 1945 in Los Angeles, actually Douglas Kinleyside ) was a British actor.

Life

Donald Douglas appeared from 1927 to 1936 several times on Broadway, and was in 1929 in The Great Gabbo ( The Great Gabbo ) next to Erich von Stroheim first seen in a movie. This was followed by roles in several Hollywood films of small production companies. From the mid- 1930s he also worked for major film studios such as MGM, 20th Century Fox and Columbia Pictures, but where he usually received only small supporting roles and extras. In the role of a lawyer, he was also seen in Charles Vidor's film noir Gilda on the side of Rita Hayworth, with whom he had been in 1938 for both Columbia B- Movies Special Inspector Convicted and together in front of the camera.

He has starred in films often good, but pale characters, as the police lieutenant in Murder, My Sweet (1944 ), he could make the radio its versatility. In the radio drama mystery series Black Castle, he took over 1943, all roles, including that of the announcer. He died in 1945 at the age of just 40 years in Los Angeles of complications during an appendectomy. His grave is at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale.
