Don Rigazio

Donald Edmond Rigazio ( born July 3, 1934 in Cambridge, Massachusetts ) is a retired American professional ice hockey goaltender.

Career

Donald Rigazio started with ice hockey as a teenager in Canada. He then took part in the World Championships in 1955, 1957 and 1958 and at the Winter Olympics 1956 in Cortina d' Ampezzo for the U.S. ice hockey team. At the Winter Games in 1956 he won the silver medal with his team. Subsequently, the goalkeeper closed for the season 1958/59 the Indianapolis Chiefs of the International Hockey League game, for which he made ​​his debut in professional hockey. However, after only a single use, he moved within the league to the Louisville Rebels, where he was able to convince immediately and with whom he won the Turner Cup in his rookie year. At the end of the season he was awarded the James Norris Memorial Trophy as the IHL goalie with the lowest Gegentorschnitt. The season 1959/60 spent the former national team at the Cleveland Barons of the American Hockey League, but where he ran aground in only three games, and he finished his career at the age of 26 years.
