Don Sharpe

Donald "Don" Sharpe (born 20 century, † 2004) was a British editor and sound engineer, who won an Oscar for the next best sound editor and a British Academy Film Award ( BAFTA Film Award ) for the best sound.

Life

Sharpe began his career in the film industry in 1947, first as assistant editor on the film a good time before he was mainly active as a sound engineer after 1954 and cooperated in the production of over ninety films.

He had his greatest success in the 1980s and won with Ivan Sharrock and Bill Rowe 1982 BAFTA Film Award for Best Sound in The French Lieutenant's (1981 ) Karel Reisz of with Meryl Streep, Jeremy Irons and Hilton McRae in the lead roles.

For the sci-fi movie Aliens - The Return ( 1986) by James Cameron starring Sigourney Weaver, Carrie Henn, Michael Biehn, and he won the Oscar for best sound editing at the Academy Awards in 1987. In addition, he was nominated along with Roy Charman and Graham Hartstone for a BAFTA Film Award for Best Sound in this movie.

Another nomination for the BAFTA Film Award for Best Sound Sharpe finally got together in 1990 with Tony Dawe and Bill Rowe in Batman ( 1989) by Tim Burton starring Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson and Kim Basinger.
