Don Sidle

Donald Roy Sidle ( born June 21, 1946 in Dallas, Texas, † May 25, 1987 in Texas ) was an American professional basketball player.

College

Sidle attended the University of Oklahoma from 1964-1968 and played for the basketball team, the Sooners. The team played in the Big Eight Conference, but never in his last season under coach John MacLeod also not reached in time under coach Bob Stevens and the Postseason. He himself still scored in the seasons 1967 and 1968 good performance. This he received several All-American honors.

ABA

He was both in the NBA and in the ABA, in the 1-5 round by the Miami Floridians, drafted in 1968. In the NBA, however, he was never used and played from then on in the ABA for the Miami Floridians. With the Floridians he once reached the play-offs and lost there against the Pacers in Division Final. He then moved to the Denver Rockets. The he left after a relatively unsuccessful year and switched to the Pacers. The Pacers gave him little use during the season time, so he moved during the season to the Memphis Pros and thus missed out on the championship. In the pros, he was not really successful, and ended his career after the season.
