Dornstetten

Dornstetten is a small town in the district of Freudenstadt in Baden- Württemberg ( Germany ), about seven kilometers east of the county town of Freudenstadt.

Geography

Geographical location

Dornstetten located in the northern Black Forest. The village lies at an altitude of 600-715 m above sea level. NN. In Aach district the smoothness arises as a confluence of the headwaters Ettenbach, Stockerbach and Kübelbach.

Boroughs

The city Dornstetten consists of the former city Dornstetten and the former municipalities of Aach and Hallwangen. History

The first mention thorn Stetten was already in the year 767 in the Lorsch Codex, at that time existed in the church today the area Waldgeding the headwaters of the upper Glattales. Between 1267 and 1276 the site of the city was raised. Dornstetten belonged to the counts of Urach - Fürstenberg. About the Counts of Hohenberg, the city became part of Württemberg in 1320. 1461 a school is mentioned in the town for the first time. 1755 is Dornstetten seat of the homonymous Oberamts, but which is already dissolved in 1807 and incorporated into the upper office Freudenstadt.

On January 1, 1975, Dornstetten united with Aach and Hallwangen the new city Dornstetten.

Traffic
