Dorota Siudek

Dorota Siudek born Zagórska ( born September 9, 1975 in Kraków ) is a Polish former figure skater, which was launched in pair skating.

Dorota Siudek began at the age of five years with the figure skating and began initially as individual runners, but then switched to pair skating and joined in 1994 for the first time internationally at that time with partner Janusz Komendera.

After the season in 1994 until her career was over her partner Mariusz Siudek. The couple started for Unia Oświęcim Dwory SSA. Together they were nine times Polish champion in pair skating. Together they challenged in the period from 1995 to 2007, except for the European Championship in 2005, all World and European Championships. In European Championships she reached the podium four times. 2004 and 2007 they won the bronze medal and in 1999 and 2000, they were runners- up behind the Russians Maria Petrova and Alexei Tikhonov. Your only medal at the world championships won Zagórska and Siudek 1999 in Helsinki with bronze behind the Russians Jelena Bereschnaja and Anton Sikharulidze and the Chinese Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo. They denied three Olympic Games. In Nagano in 1998 they finished tenth place in 2002 in Salt Lake City to seventh place in Turin in 2006 and they were ninth. After her last Olympics she wanted to end her career, but went on when they learned that the European Championships to be held in Warsaw in 2007. Their last tournament was the World Cup 2007., Where they were forced to retire due to an injury of Siudek.

Zagórska and Siudek are the only Polish figure skating pair to win a medal at the World and European Championships.

Dorota Zagórska married Mariusz Siudek in the year 2000. 2009 came their son to the world. The Siudeks now working as a coach in Toruń. They currently serve the British figure skating pair Stacey Kemp and David King.
