Douglas Fowley

Daniel Vincent Fowley (* May 30, 1911 in Bronx, New York City; † 21 May 1998 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California ) was an American actor.

Life

Daniel Vincent Fowley worked as a waiter, as a laborer at the New York Times, Wall Street, at the post office, as crier, sellers, professional football player and eventually as a professional actor. He had already received previous acting experience during his time at St. Francis Xavier Military Academy. Fowley was already playing at off-Broadway before moving to Los Angeles to study at Los Angeles City College and the University of California, Los Angeles. He served during the Second World War in the United States Navy and lost during his service in the Pacific on an aircraft carrier in an accident his teeth.

After Fowley debuted in 1933 in the two feature films The Mad Game and The Woman Who Dared front of the camera, he played mainly in B-movies and Western villains or belligerent troublemakers. His most famous role was that of Doc Holliday, he 45 episodes long attacks from 1955 to 1961 in the Western series Wyatt Earp played one.

Daniel Fowley was married seven times, including with the two actresses Shelby Payne and Judy Walsh. He is the father of musician Kim Fowley. On 21 May 1998, 9 days before his 87th birthday, Fowley died at the Motion Picture and Television Country House and Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Jean Louise, five children, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Fowley is on the Laurel Cemetery buried in Murrieta, California.
