Douglas Sequeira Esteban Solano ( born August 23, 1977 in San José ) is a former Costa Rican football player (defender).

Career

Sequeira moved in 1997 from his native country to Feyenoord, where he was active until 1999, when he moved to Karlsruher SC. In the 1999/2000 season he played for KSC 24 second division games, but rose with his team in 18th place from the end of the season. Then he moved back to Costa Rica, where he played until 2004 for Deportivo Saprissa and AD Municipal Liberia. In 2004 he was with Deportivo Saprissa national champion.

For the 2005 season, he was taken by Real Salt Lake in Major League Soccer, but immediately on CD Chivas USA passed, where he played in the 2005 season. Even during that season he moved back to Real Salt Lake. After the 2006 season, his contract was not renewed. Sequeira, signed in December 2006, a three-year contract with Tromsø IL. In August 2009 he moved back to his home to Deportivo Saprissa.

Sequeira played for various Costa Rican youth national teams. In 2004 he made ​​his debut in the senior team. Since then he has represented his country at the Copa America 2004 in Peru, the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2005 in the USA and in the successful qualification for the FIFA World Cup 2006 in Germany.
