Douris (vase painter)

Duris ( Δούρις, Douris ) was an ancient Greek vase painter of the red-figure style, BC to about the middle of the 5th century BC was active in Athens from the late 6th century.

Duris was one of the most important artists of the red-figure vase painting in the early classical period. The pottery produced by the potter Python were almost exclusively painted by Duris. His works usually depict battle scenes and symposia.
