Triptolemos Painter

The designated with the Notnamen Triptolemos ancient artist was a painter no longer known by name today vase painter of the red-figure style from Athens, where he worked between 490 BC and 470 BC.

He began in the workshop of Euphronios, where he learned of Duris. Later, he also worked for the potters Brygos, Hiero, Charinos and Python. First, his style was archisierend, later his work was only of second-rate nature. His repertoire, however, is broad, ranging from the Apaturien procession through scenes from Thebes up to the eponymous exit of Triptolemus.
