Action

The three NCOs Rauscher, carbon hammer and Struve are group leader of the first train of the third company and temperamentally predisposed very different. Carbon Hammer is a go-getter with a weakness for beautiful women, Struve enjoys reading and trying to make it all right, Rauscher is a rather quiet person who makes a lot of thought to his future. Despite their differences, the three good friends.

One evening has Kohlhammerstraße fatally arranged simultaneously with two women, the one with the gym teacher Katherine, on the other hand with the telephone operator Lisbeth. Therefore, he wants Struve persuade to go in his place with Kathe. Since Struve actually need 20 soldiers to rehearsal, which in turn engaged Rauscher as its representative for the theater job. The latter agrees, but must ensure his fiancée Lotte cancel the evening appointment. Over the theatrical performance itself Rauscher in love with the actress Gerda, who reciprocated his affection, much to the displeasure of Kapellmeister Lautenbach, which Gerda not only promotes, but is himself in love with her. Struve asked Gerda to forego the journey that finally does. Carbon hammer tested for Rauscher, who sits contrary to orders in civil at the station, waiting for Gerda. He manages to persuade the friend to a change of heart and gives him surprising his own uniform, so Rauscher as commanded his troops to go into quarters. During the filming had parts of several military units: From the Berlin guard regiment, the infantry training regiment ( both belonged to the roots of Division Greater Germany later), the Panzer Lehr Division and the Jagdgeschwader Richthofen.
