Ducetius

Ducetius († 440 BC) was a leader of the people of Sikels in Sicily in the 5th century BC

Ducetius came from Mineo. As Greek settlers penetrated more and more into the interior of Sicily, he united around 465 BC, the Sikels under his leadership and attacked Greek settlements in the interior. To 460 BC he destroyed while Tina Morgan. When he attacked, 450 BC Akragas, subordinate territory, he was defeated and sent into exile to Corinth. 446 BC, he returned again and founded Sicelian and Corinthian settlers, the city Kale Act on the north coast of Sicily.
