Dulnain Bridge

Dulnain Bridge ( Gaelic: Inbhir Tuilnein ) is a village in the Scottish Highland Unitary Authority. It is situated in the Cairngorms in the valley of the Spey, Dulnain Bridge of happened one kilometers to the south. Its name receives the locality of the river Dulnain, which flows south into the Spey. Dulnain Bridge is located about three kilometers south-west of Grantown -on-Spey and 36 kilometers south-east of Inverness. It is connected by the A95 and the A938 to the road network.

History

The town developed around a bridge over the Dulnain, which was built in 1754 as part of a military road. The bridge was replaced in 1791 and destroyed in the flood of 1829. A replacement was completed the following year. Later, Dulnain Bridge, developed as a tourist destination. 1971 lived 119 persons in Dulnain Bridge.
