The Dumaresq River is a river in eastern Australia and forms part of the border between the states of New South Wales and Queensland. Its most important tributary is the River Severn. The Dumaresq River flows near Boggabilla, a suburb of Goondiwindi, in the Macintyre River. All these rivers are among the Border Rivers.

The river has an important significance for the Bigambul, the first Aboriginal tribe that inhabited the area. The Kamilaroi, another native tribe, has strong links to this river.

The river was the botanist Allan Cunningham in 1827 by Lieutenant - Colonel Henry Dumaresq, Governor Darling's brother and assistant, named.

Yelarbon, Bonshaw and Texas are the major cities on the river. The Bruxner Highway crosses the Dumaresq River south of Texas.

In the valley there are vineyards and some good places to fish. The farmers in the valley once served the tobacco industry with plants.
