Dundas (TTC)

Dundas is an underground subway station in Toronto. It lies on the Yonge- University - Spadina line of the Toronto Subway, at the intersection of Yonge Street and Dundas Street. The station has side platforms, is used daily by an average of 69.150 passengers (2009 /10).

In the vicinity there are shopping centers Eaton Centre and Atrium on Bay, Dundas Square, Ryerson University, Chinatown, City Hall, the Canon Theatre and the Toronto Coach Terminal Bus Station. It offers connecting flights to a bus route and to tram line 505; Dundas also is one of five stations that are connected to the PATH tunnel system. The opening of the station on 30 March 1954 together with the portion Union - Eglinton Yonge Subway, the first subway on Canadian soil.

Dundas is the only station whose platforms are not available through a common distributor level, but only directly from the street. This is due to the limited space and the difficult geological situation. The terracotta murals Cross Section of William McElcheran decorates the northwest entrance; it shows pets, shopping border people, businessmen and other commuters.
