The drought wall is a range of hills in Lower Austria and belongs to the topographically seen Gutensteiner Alps. It extends from Miesbach towards WSW, back to the snow mountain. The drought wall is a partly rock interspersed ridge, which is bordered by meadows, forests and waterfalls. In contrast to the east adjacent high plateau of the Hohe Wand it forms a part, narrow ridge. Over the crest of the Austrian long-distance trail 01, which has several promising sections runs.

Surveys, shelters and trails

The ridge of the drought wall is described below by WSW of ONO in detail.

  • Marterberg (918 m above sea level. A. ). Inconspicuous wooded hill at the beginning of the comb. No marked trail to the highest point; the long-distance trail crosses its southern flank.
  • Flagstone ( 1154 m above sea level. A. ). Thanks to its rocky northern flank of the salient points of the entire ridge with open views to the valley of Piesting and Schneeberg. A few feet below its highest point is the Gauer man tent of ÖTK .. Shortest access from the homestead Tiefenbach: on the Ancient Road approximately 1 ½ hours, on the homestead Schwaighofer and the eastern ridge 1 ½ to 2 hours walking.
  • Catherine's beat ( 1222 m above sea level. A. ). The highest point on here, especially on the south side is a little shallower ridge striking collection. Will usually visited on an exceeding of the ridge, where the marked trail just south of the summit over.
  • Öhlerschutzhaus Friends of Nature. ( 1027 m above sea level. A. ). . Opened 1928 Arrivals: from the north from Brandstätterhof about 1 ½ hours from the south from Puchberg am Schneeberg mountain on hold for about 2 hours.
  • Ohler ( 1183 m above sea level. A. ). Good vantage point from Öhlerschutzhaus about his gentle eastern flank in ½ hour to reach. To the south, to distinct rock walls; and the further ridge trail to the barn in the West has short rocky sections. The long-distance trail 01 follows from the Öhlerschutzhaus the Imitzerweg that leads south of the rocky ridge directly to the Schober meadow.
  • Schober ( 1213 m above sea level. A. ). The westernmost peak in the comb with distinct steep flanks. Wooded summit with cross, but with no view; clear view of the snow mountain from the western side. Accessible from the Mamauwiese about the Schober chapel, then in steep hairpin bends to the summit; Walking time about 1 hour.

The " Tablerhöhle 1862/10 " east of the plate brick and the " Erzloch 1862/4 ", a vertical cave east of Öhlerschutzhauses, two caves are right on the crest of the wall droughts. Other important caves are the " Malepartuskluft 1862/19 ", " mountain milk chamber 1862/20 ", " Marechlehöhle 1862/21 ", " bed chamber 1862/23 " and the "four pillars cave 1862/24 " (all in Marecherkogel south of Öhlers at Puchberg am Schneeberg ), the "interest cave 1862/11 " and the " forest floor hole 1862/61 " (all in the north wall of the droughts in good stone). 104 caves recorded drought wall - Overall, the cave cadastre for the area in 1862.
