The Dusseldorf Airport Terminal railway station is a eröffneter in 1975, tunnels and railway terminus in the North Rhine - Westphalian capital Dusseldorf.
It is located below the terminal C of Düsseldorf Airport and is the terminus of line S 11 the S- Bahn Rhein -Ruhr and terminus of the line Dusseldorf - Rath sub - Dusseldorf airport terminal.
Extension
The train station is two-pronged expanded with a central platform. The station is named after the Dusseldorf Airport Station of the smaller of the two airport train stations in Düsseldorf. In the immediate vicinity of the station is the termination stop the SkyTrain.
In the period from the airport fire in 1996, in which the terminals A and B were severely damaged, until the completion of the renovation work in the year 2001, there were at the airport nor the breakpoint Dusseldorf Airport Terminal E to connect the makeshift departure hall E. Since the abolition of the temporary all trains without stopping over at this breakpoint.
If the planned original route 5 is implemented, there would be at the airport terminal and connection to the light rail Dusseldorf.
Operation
The S 11 runs in 20 -minute intervals over the Düsseldorf Main Station and on to Bergisch Gladbach station. Until 12 December 2009, the station was connected by the line S 7 with Solingen. Previously held here in addition the line S 21, which went through a connecting curve to the track to Duisburg.

At night, the station is serviced by the Wupper - Express and other regional express trains and individual journeys of other S -Bahn lines from Cologne, Essen, Hagen, Aachen and Dortmund. The airport is currently four bus lines approached ( departs at Terminal B).
From March 27 1983 to 23 May 1993, the station from the Lufthansa Airport Express was approached. Thus, there was a direct long-distance trains to Frankfurt Airport.
