Działdowo County

The powiat Działdowski is a powiat in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. It is surrounded to the north by the districts Nowe Miasto, Iława, Ostróda and Nidzica, while in the south the provincial border of Warmia and Mazury runs, connect to the Mazovia and Kujawy.

The county area includes the southern part of the former East Prussian district Neidenburg, which was in 1920 without referendum on Poland, Province of Pomerania, connected, and parts of the former West Prussian counties Neumark (West Prussia ) and Strasburg (West Prussia ). On April 1, 1938, the district came in the course of municipal reform in the former Warsaw Voivodeship ( 1919-1939 ).

The district includes six municipalities, which are divided into municipalities, rural communities and Stadt-/Landgemeinden:

  • Działdowo ( Soldau ): 20,740 inhabitants

Town and Country Town:

  • Lidzbark ( According castle ): 14,613 inhabitants, of whom 6,258 outside the urban area

Rural communities:

  • Działdowo country: 9525 inhabitants
  • Ilowo - Osada ( Illowo ): 7,560 inhabitants
  • Plosnica ( Heinrichsdorf ): 6,100 inhabitants
  • Rybno ( Ribno ): 7,141 inhabitants
