Eamonn Walsh

Eamonn Walsh ( born September 20, 1945) is an Irish politician of the Irish Labour Party from 1992 to 1997 and was Deputy ( Teachta Dala ) in Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Irish Parliament.

Walsh joined in 1979 at the Irish Labour Party. In 1991 he was elected to Dublin County Council, where he remained until its dissolution in 1994. Walsh was therefore now a member of the new South Dublin County Council. In the local elections in 1999, 2004 and most recently in 2007 he was re-elected each. From 1997 to 1998 he was Chairman of the South Dublin County Council.

Walsh, who was an art teacher before his political career, was elected in the 1992 elections for the Irish Labour Party in the constituency of Dublin South West in the 27th Dáil Éireann. In the next elections in 1997, however, he could not defend his position.
