Earl of Bridgewater

Earl of Bridgewater was a British hereditary title of nobility, which was presented twice in the Peerage of England. He was last worn by a branch of the Egerton family.

Ceremonies

The title was the first time in 1486 for Henry Daubeny, 9th Baron Daubeny created. He went out ten years later, when the Earl died without a male descendant.

The second award was presented in 1617 to John Egerton, 2nd Viscount Brackley. This was a Member of the House of Commons and Lord Lieutenant of various counties in Wales and have been in the west of England. The title became extinct in 1829, as the eighth Earl died, and no descendant in a straight male line of the first Earl was no longer present, which could inherit the title.

Subordinate title
