East of the Sun, West of the Moon

East of the Sun, West of the Moon is the fourth studio album by the Norwegian pop-rock band a-ha.

History

The name of the album is inspired by the jazz standard East of the Sun ( and West of the Moon ) from 1953. Musically, were now more adult listeners the target group, echo effects and other small allusions and details have been incorporated into the music. In The Way We Talk guitarist Magne Furuholmen took over the lead vocals.

Advance was born on 15 September 1990, the single Crying in the Rain, the first cover version on an album of the band decoupled. The original was from the year 1961 by the Everly Brothers.

Criticism

Now although each placement missing on the Billboard 200, but sold three million copies of the album. Place six were achieved in the German charts and twelfth place in the UK. Steven MacDonald rated the album 3 out of 5 stars at Allmusic. He spoke of a cute and artful collection of songs that were played well and beautifully sung. The album gained a better reception than they have received.
