The motor ship Cruise One was the first cruise ship, which was made for the British- Greek cheap cruise line easy cruise into service. It was operated as easyCruise One.

History

The ship was originally under the name Renaissance II Cantiere Navale Ferrari SpA at the shipyard built in La Spezia for the now insolvent Italian shipping company Renaissance Cruises and put into service in 1990. After the ship had changed several times registration and home port, it was in 1998 renamed " The Neptune " and used for gambling cruises in Southeast Asia.

In April 2004 it was sold to easyCruise and rebuilt by a shipyard in Singapore for the new purpose. The passenger capacity was increased from about 100 up to 186. As part of the renovation work also parts of the superstructure and the hull in the colors of the shipping company ( original color: Pantone 021C ) was painted and decorated with the " easyCruise.com " on the flanks. The striking body paint but was later removed. From summer 2005 to 2008 the ship for cruises in the Mediterranean and Caribbean was used.

In October 2008, the easyCruise One was decommissioned, sold to the new owner Platinum Yacht Management LLC, based in Dubai and placed under the name of Cruise One in the local Port Rashid.

Concept of Operations

The owner of the shipping company, Stelios Haji- Ioannou, realized with the easy cruise one a concept for cruises in the low price range, which is mainly aimed at a younger audience. The 74 double rooms, 7 four-bed cabins and four suites balcony and the onboard facilities were very basic and functional. The cruise price covered only from the ride and the booked cabin. Meals, drinks and other benefits were calculated separately. The crew of the easyCruise One was provided by the ship management service V-Ships.

The concept was that the easyCruise One during the day was at sea, the ports until the afternoon started off to spend the night on the spot before the journey was continued in the early morning.
