Education in the United Kingdom

The school system in the United Kingdom describes the four different school systems existing in the United Kingdom. Thus one finds in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England each have independent school systems that are similar, their contents and structures but determined by local authorities. In principle, the systems are in Wales, Northern Ireland and England mostly on expert knowledge, the system in Scotland but focused on general knowledge.

School system in Scotland

The Scottish school year always begins in August and ends in late June. The school year is divided into three parts, which are referred to as terms. Pre-school Education

Independent Schools

Gaelic Medium Schools
