Edward W. Pattison

Edward Worthington Pattison ( born April 29, 1932 in Troy, New York; † August 22, 1990 in West Sand Lake, New York ) was an American politician. Between 1975 and 1979 he represented the State of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

In 1949, Edward Pattison graduated from the Albany Academy. Then he studied until 1953 at Cornell University in Ithaca. Between 1954 and 1956 he served in the U.S. Army. After studying law at Cornell University and his 1957 was admitted as a lawyer, he started working in Troy in this profession. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Democratic Party launched a political career. In 1970 he ran unsuccessfully for Congress yet. Between 1970 and 1975 he was treasurer in Rensselaer County. In 1973, failed his candidacy for the office of the local district council.

In the congressional elections of 1974, Pattison was the 29th electoral district of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he succeeded the three days before retiring Republican Carleton J. King on January 3, 1975. After a re-election he was able to complete in Congress until January 3, 1979 two legislative sessions. In 1978, he was not reconfirmed. After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives Pattison is no longer politically have appeared. He died on 22 August 1990 in West Sand Lake.
