Eigil Knuth

Count Eigil Knuth ( born August 8, 1903 in Klampenborg; † 12 March 1996 in Copenhagen) was a Danish explorer, prehistorians, sculptor and author. He is regarded as the doyen of Danish polar explorer.

Before his death in 1996 he was the archaeological finds and findings of his research trips no longer publish a summary in Pearyland. The task was taken over by Bjarne Gronnow ( b. 1956 ), the managed Knuth's estate. The book The Northernmost Ruins of the Globe: Eigil Knuth 's Archaeological Investigations in Peary Land and Adjacent Areas of High Arctic Greenland (2003) is a collection of Knuth's findings and observations.
