Einar Enevoldson

Einar Enevoldson ( born June 15, 1932 in Seattle, Wash.. ) Is an American glider pilot and world record holder in the largest, of a glider ever reached altitude ( 15,460 m). Enevoldson is a former test pilot at NASA.

The record was flown on 29 August 2006 in a self-made called " Perlan ", named after the project, based on a DG- 505. Second man on board was Steve Fossett. The flight took place in the Andes.

After describing the flight of Fosset they were disconnected in 4000 meters height from a tow plane and carried by air currents further about Patagonia. The flight lasted about four hours, with the outdoor temperature dropped to 57 degrees below zero. These conditions were offset by pressure suits.
