Geography

Geographical location

Einhausen is located on the mountain road in the Hessian Ried and belongs to the climatically favored northeastern Upper Rhine Graben. Surrounded by the flows of the Weschnitz place of mature woodland and agricultural land.

History

The place is from a gift, possessions Name: Husun ​​emerged, to the Lorsch Abbey in 768. During the Reformation and Counter-Reformation developed in the 15th and 16th centuries, two politically and religiously fractious districts: Large -Hausen ( Protestant ) and small -Hausen ( Catholic).

With effect from April 1, 1937, the two villages were united by decree of the municipality Einhausen. This deal was due to the reluctance between the inhabitants of the two places quite controversial and unpopular. This led to massive protests on the first day of school: Some parents refused to let their children go on the other side of the Weschnitz to school. In a referendum in December 1953, therefore, an application for splitting Einhausen was rejected. A significant effect of this decision was some twenty years later, when Einhausen could retain its independence in the course of municipal reform in Hesse in the 1970s and remained unchanged.

Population Development

Fair / Kerwe

The Einhäuser fair, also called church fete, takes place every year on the first weekend of October.
