Eino Oksanen

Eino " Eikka " Ilmari Oksanen ( born May 7, 1931 in Jyväskylä ) is a former Finnish athlete who was three times the traditional Boston Marathon win between 1959 and 1962.

In 1955, Oksanen in Barcelona set a world record over 20 miles on the track. A year later he took in Melbourne for the first time in the Olympic Games and took part in the marathon tenth. At the national marathon championships in the same year in Pieksämäki Oksanen came in second place. The winner Paavo Kotila had set a new world record in this run. In 1959 he won the first time the Boston Marathon with a winning time of 2:22:42 hours.
