El Gouna

El Gouna (high الجونة Arabic al - Dschūna, DMG al - Ǧūna, lagoon ', Egyptian Arabic: il - guna; often Gouna El Gouna or ) is a place in Egypt. The population was about 15,000 people, including temporary residents of residential property in late 2009.

Location

The resort town is located about 22 kilometers north of Hurghada right on the Red Sea and has an area of 4.8 x 1.8 km. The southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula lies about 80 km in a north- northeasterly direction.

History
