El Hajeb Province

The approximately 1500 square kilometers and about 235,000 inhabitants province of El Hajeb (Arabic إقليم الحاجب, DMG Iqlīm al - Ḥāǧib ) belongs to the Moroccan region of Meknès- Tafilalet. The provincial capital is the city of El Hajeb.

Geography

Location

The El Hajeb province is bordered on the south by the province of Ifrane, in the southwest of the province Khénifra, on the west by the province Khémisset, on the north by the Prefecture of Meknès, in the northeast of the province of Moulay Yaacoub and on the east by the province of Sefrou.

Landscape

The landscape profile of the area between the northern foothills of the Middle Atlas and the Moroccan Meseta province is hilly; the highest elevations are between 1000 and 1500 m.

Climate

Population

Economy

Basis of all economic activity is agriculture: crops are barley and wheat, but also vegetables, olives and fruit; sometimes you see some vines. History

The province was founded only in 1991.

Attractions

City and El Hajeb province have not historically or culturally significant sights. The city of El Hajeb makes an almost modern feel to a large extent.
